We fight with honor for our beloved country
Many of times we have to fight
Hating with a passion
So we can make wrong things into right
I hear the rattatat of machine guns
People scream and are in pain
Those of us who have nothing to lose
If we die it is our gain
Men of all races fight with honor
To bring peace to our world
So we fight to kill and murder
So we shoot and grenades are hurled
Men write back letters to their family
They give their buds their personal things in case they die
People miss their homes and their kids and wives
Almost every man hates to fight
People dead lying next to you
Friends are with you but the next second their gone
Men are wounded and scream out in pain
The war keeps raging way to long
We are tired but fight we will
We are US soldiers and will win this war
Bullets are shot people go down
When a grenade is thrown and we all hit the floor
Kids who are eighteen are drafted
And are taken from their family to fight
Not wanting to go but are forced by the law
Parents and people of all ages do not think it is right
Parents look out their window and see a car
Driving up the street and stopping at the door
And the men get out and tell the bad news
And the mothers and fathers cry with horror
People smoke drink and have fun
Others asleep and wish they were dead
People hate to fight because they are scared
Many times they get shot in the head
Screams of pain reach peoples ears
And they wonder who is hurt
Brothers are on the field together
Some brothers of honor, their bodies are in the dirt
We go to the beach but not for fun
A lot of our men are shot before they get out
Of the boats that are taking us
We get on the beach but we are filled with doubt
When you get hit with a bullet
It goes straight to your head
And you wonder if you’ll go home
Or if you’re going to wind up dead
War is brutal and sick
Men die and women are left with nothing
We fight and die
So that our kids nothing will become something
Many of times we have to fight
Hating with a passion
So we can make wrong things into right
I hear the rattatat of machine guns
People scream and are in pain
Those of us who have nothing to lose
